Friday January 3, 2003....

This day started out (and ended) in complete chaos...

Dave and his ushers went up to get their tuxes which ended up having the wrong jewerly...now I've had the WORST luck with this particular company so I was irate at this point...they almost got a long call from me, but they told my dad they'd have the right ones shipped next day...so the waiting on that began....

Then we got to the reception hall to decorate...we got there at 1:30 (the caterer said we could start decorating at 12)...no one had ANYTHING done...the rental equipment was not there, none of the tables were set up...nothing. So, we started moving tables by ourselves and decorating. My whole family (except for my brother) got into it...it looked pretty good (except the hall changed the seating arrangements on me and messed that up. OY)... We didn't have time to set up the rehearsal dinner though since they didn't have anything ready. So, we were a little fuming and went to the church for the rehearsal.

There's not much to tell about that...Fr. made us go through all our vows and say them so we wouldn't be nervous the next day.

We went back to the reception hall for dinner...nothing was set up, so we ended up doing that ourselves too...instead of coming in and sitting down for dinner, we had to postpone everything for half an hour. I was NOT happy...and a lot nervous to have these people cater the wedding the next day....

Friday was not a fun day....

January 4, 2003 Our Wedding Day!!

My dad, girls, and I had to wake up really really early...6:30 AM to get to the hairdressers. My dad bought donuts, but I had like 2 bites...the fact I was getting married that day had finally set in...........

After 1 1/2 hours at the salon, all of us (except one of my flower girls who got their hair done by the church) had finally gotten our hair done and we were off to get ready back home.

Before we got ready, we tried to eat lunch...noone ate more than 3 bites!! So we gave up and got dressed instead. I had the HARDEST time in my dress with all the tulle and the long train (I was kicking it all during the ceremony to keep it out of my way!! ) The top of my dress decided it wasn't going to fit snug, so I put a few safety pins in it and gave up...it wasn't going to lay flat, but oh well.

After getting ready, we all piled into the limo....disaster almost hit when the limo driver ran a red light at a busy intersection...he ended up swerving in a ditch and cars swerved around us...so scary!!! We do get to the church in one piece though!!!

Fr. requested we got to the church 1 1/2 hours early (for no apparent reason... :headscratch: ) So, we stood around (they made me hide in the confessional since Dave was already out in the church). The photographer took some pictures, and I messed with my train, and before we knew it, they were telling us to line up. My heart was now pounding...but after all the girls and boys walked down the aisle (the flower girls and ring bearer were ADORABLE!!), it was my turn and I wasn't nervous at all. It looked like a hollywood premiere or something with all the cameras flashing! I don't remember the choir singing but everyone told me they were good....I'll have to wait until the video comes in!!

It was a Catholic mass, so most of the ceremony was typical, but during our vows, Fr. said "after your first fiance, you told me you met someone online and I said 'Child, what the heck are you bringing me now!' " It was funny.... We both said our vows and I wasn't even nervous, even though I hate talking in front of people. Oh, and instead of saying "you may kiss your bride", Fr. turns to me and asks "Would you like to kiss your husband now"...yay!!!

Before we knew it, we were done...we made an impromtu receiving line...it was too cold to go outside, but everyone started coming up to us, so it turned into a receiving line! (Oh, and the blizzard went right over the top of us in Michigan and dumped in Massachusetts!!)

After pictures, we were off to the reception.... First, the caterers didn't have the toasting wine out, then they broke my dolphin ice sculpture (luckily my family were the only ones that knew we were supposed to have one), then they couldn't clean the dance floor up in time. People were getting a little antsy...so we ended up doing dinner, the cake cutting, and first/special dances one right after another. We also had the dj fade the first/special dances after one minute to get everyone on the dance floor! Unfortunately, the floor was sticky from the bubbles everyone blew during the first dance...so they put SAWDUST on the floor?!? My little sister ended up falling, almost breaking her ankle, and she tore her dress!!! I was fuming at this point, and made them clean up the dust....but after that, everyone was on the dance floor dancing the night away...and the little kids kept taking Dave and I apart and dancing with us...it was SO much fun at this point!!!! The stress was gone and we were just dancing in eachother's arms...perfect!!!

After it ended, we went to our hotel, where we finally got to eat the wedding food! Then, as a virgin bride/groom we got to enjoy our first night together...
